On August 22, 2024, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) conducted a Fire Prevention and Preparedness Seminar for the students and teachers at SFAC-Southwoods Campus. The purpose of the seminar was to educate the students on safety precautions in the event of a school fire.
The BFP staff presented the orientation by providing information on how fires occur, what to do if a fire occurs, and how to use a fire extinguisher effectively. The BFP staff also discussed the four stages of fire and their characteristics, as well as how fire spreads.
The BFP emphasized its commitment to ensure a fire-safe nation by 2034. Teachers and students were also trained by the staff on how to utilize a fire extinguisher in an emergency. Before continuing with the fire safety demonstration, the Performing Arts Club gave a brief intermission number, which gave the Bureau of Fire Protection time to set up the tools and supplies needed for the presentation.
As the orientation program came to a close, the Bureau of Fire Protection took a moment to express gratitude to the students for their participation and attention. The BFP expressed their hope that the students would be able to put the knowledge they acquired during the orientation. A picture opportunity marked the end of the program, giving everybody a chance to remember their experiences.
