SFAC Southwoods Celebrates “Buwan ng Wika”

Last August 30, SFAC Southwoods campus celebrated Buwan ng Wika with the theme, “Wikang Katutubo: Tungo sa Isang Bansang Filipino”. A program was held and led by the Master of Ceremony, Mr. Wilmar Evidor. The celebration started with the Senior HighSchool’s doxology performance, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem conducted by the Guidance Advocate, Mrs. Remy Olivera. To welcome all the guests and participants, Mr. Mark Kevin Evangelista, Officer-In-Charge, had given his opening remarks as well as the introduction of judges. Ms. Mylene A. Oandasan, a Filipino teacher and Grade 3 adviser explained the criteria of judging for the different activities. Students from Kinder to 12 grade participated in the said event. There were varied activities prepared for students like dance numbers from the Kinder pupils, ethnic dance competition (Grades 1-3), choral recitation contest (Grades 4-6) and 80’s Retro dance competition (Grades 7-10). The said competitions were judged by the ever-supportive Sangguniang Kabataan Chairman, Hon. MJ Almadin, Brgy. Secretary, Mrs. Mariafe Pastorin and an Education Specialist, Ms. Shienna Marie Caparas. In addition to that, the beloved Brgy. Chairman, Hon. Geminiano Catalon had given his support and shared his time with the Franciscans.

 

The most awaited moment of the program was the announcement of winners by the OIC. Here is a list of the winners:

Choral Recitation

The Franciscan community joined hands to commemorate our national language which is the symbol of our being as a Filipino.
