Twelve Franciscan learners participated in the International Singapore Maths Competition 2020. This was held on March 7, 2020 at Academia de Julia Victoria, City of Imus, Cavite.

The International Singapore Maths Competition (ISMC) is open to all Primary 2 up to Primary 6 students. There are four different categories, four different papers. Its format and style are in contrast to most other mathematics competitions. The examination is 90 minutes long. The questions are arranged in escalating difficulty, and some of the questions towards the end are most difficult. The use of calculators is allowed for Primary 5 and 6. The paper comprises of twenty-five non-routine, free response questions. Questions 1 to 10 are worth 2 points each, questions 11 to 20 are worth 4 points each and questions 21 to 25 are worth 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 points, respectively. No penalties apply for wrong attempts. Maximum score equals 100 points.
The results of the exam will be released on May 4, 2020 and the awarding Ceremony is on August 1, 2020 at St. Scholastica’s College – Manila. Top 50% of the participants in ISMC – Philippines are qualified to join in the ISMC Global on September 2, 2020 in Singapore.
