Franciscans Join the Annual Spiritual Retreat and Outbound Experience

When you take time with God and listen to His voice, He renews your strength and enables you to handle life. That is what happened, last September 18-19, in the Spiritual and Outbound Activity at Villa de Oro, Tagaytay.

There were 35 participants from SFAC Sta. Rosa Campus who were warmly accommodated by the facilitators there. There were also students from SFAC Southwoods who were friendly with them all throughout the activity.

The retreat was entertaining and eventful. On the first day, the students were grouped into five and they started playing games that promote values such as cooperation, patience, and persistence. One of the most awaited games for the students must be the pool activity. Despite the very cold weather the students still enjoyed dipping into the pool. They also presented a Christmas carol dance number showcasing the talents of the Franciscans. And the highlight for this activity was the spiritual recollection led by Father Francis; helping the students to reconnect with God, to talk to Him and to be thankful. It was a really good experience. The students learned that they can always reach out and talk to God through their prayers. To wrap it all up, a mass was done on the second day before sending everyone home.

Many memories were made during this activity. All of the students were full of smiles when they left the place. Disconnecting from the world to reconnect with God and to reflect about themselves – it is truly a breath of fresh air for them.
