2011 New Year's Message

madam_orosco_mediumLike pieces of time all in a row, new years come . . . new years go. Yet, the timeless in each one of us is aware of life’s timelessness, and knows that yesterday is but today’s memory and tomorrow is today’s dream.

Time, really, has no divisions to mark its passage. What appears to be the end may really be a new beginning. Thus, none of us can go back and start a new beginning, but all of us can start now and make a new ending. Let a new, envigorating spirit emerge among us, not with a thunderous roar but with a quiet birth, not with grandiosity but with an imperceptible, genuine change – a change in which we all participate.While the New Year beckons us with many promises, let us not forget to give the old year its due:  joy, satisfaction, good health, material and personal successes, and peace.  Let us not also forget the failures, disappointments, mistakes, sorrows, pains and difficulties we have committed and experienced in the past year.  Let us learn from these and carry these lessons of time with us.

The New Year has began and we need to be mindful of what is ahead.

May Year 2011  . . .

  • fill you with significant steps toward the fulfillment of your fondest dreams;
  • find you healthier and happier, peaceful, content, satisfied, and looking forward to fresh, revitalizing interests.
  • see that your children are spared from the negative impacts of unfolding events as much as possible so they may continue following their interests and passions to life-affirming families and careers of their own and remain stronger through your dedication to be caring and commitment to excellence.
  • May you possess what you need to weather storms and safely guide your family to your desired destination.
  • May you all continue to be witnesses to the power and possibilities created by people collaboratively working together on a common task and goal.
  • May you never stop believing in your dreams and persevere to take actions that will make them realities.
  • May 2011 give better opportunities to start life anew and allow you to leap over old barriers and have a real breakthrough.
  • May every day be a new beginning.  Stay away from what might have been, and look ahead to what can be.

I pray that our timeless God of yesterday, today and tomorrow make 2011 your best year ever
. . . not by shielding you from all sorrows and pain, but by strengthening you to bear it as they come;
. . . not by making your paths easy, but by making you stronger to travel any path;
. . . not by taking hardships away from you, but by taking fear from your heart; and
. . . not by granting you unbroken sunshine, but by keeping your face bright, even in the shadows.

Happy New Year to all!
