President's 2014 Foundation Anniversary Message

orosco-a-jr_mediumAnniversary traditions are a great way of celebrating. The best celebration of all anniversaries is a reflection not only of what is happening to us now or what has happened in our past, but of who we want to become. It is determining about what to focus on, what things meant to us, and what we are going to do about them.

We are commemorating the 33rd Founding Anniversary of Saint Francis of Assisi College. Symbolic of our celebration is the highly esteemed “gem of fire”, a precious stone that is worth as much as a diamond – the Amethyst. It is a gem that transcends its commonality. It carries the energy of fire, passion, and creativity, yet bears the logic of temperance, dignity, and sobriety. It enhances flexibility and cooperation. It strengthens the imagination and intuition; thus, refining the thinking process. It helps in the assimilation of new ideas putting thoughts into action and brings plans to fruition. It is a talisman of success.

Let us, therefore, cherish this astonishing amalgam of the past, the present, and the future of our institution. Let us further the grounding of our foundation by possessing the focus and determination to demarcate our limitations and transform our lives into much more than we ever imagined. By determining our priorities and focusing them, we can move forward with confidence and with the expected results. These are the inner strengths that will keep us on track towards who we want to become.

With focus and determination, let us spread our wings and put all efforts to do greater things. Let us look skyward. Let us soar high to impressive heights with the purity and gentleness of spirit on the wings of a dove.

Let this vision in our hearts be in our life’s blueprint.
